Arundel Castle look forward to welcoming Sussex

THE highlight of Arundel Castle Cricket Club’s season will take place next week when Sussex County Cricket Club make their annual visit.

The Friends of Arundel Castle Cricket Club chairman Alan Wadey is looking forward to welcoming Sussex and said: “The Sussex County Cricket Festival, in the grounds of Arundel Castle, is always the highlight of our season and we have our fingers crossed for some dry and sunny weather, as, of course, are most of the people in England after what must be the worst summer in living memory.

“We will be delighted to see our neighbours from Kent on Monday for the CB40 match, and this is followed on Wednesday with Durham, along with all their supporters, for the four-day Championship game.

“Then, on Sunday, July 22, we host another CB40 match against Northamptonshire, which will finish off a busy week but we hope it will be a happy and successful one for the Sussex team and their loyal members.

“As chairman of The Friends of Arundel Castle Cricket Club, I am delighted to welcome the teams, members, friends and, hopefully, new cricket lovers to our beautiful ground and just hope you will be able to bring some sunshine with you.”

Tickets for each day of the County Championship match cost £15 for adults, £5 for children under-16 and children under-five are free. For the CB40 matches, adult entry is £15, under-18s are £5 with children under-five are free.
