Complaceny is Wickers' downfall

SOUTHWICK Football Club manager Dominic Shepherd felt his side were too complacent at struggling Broadbridge Heath on Saturday. However, Shepherd believed Wickers should still have got at least a point after having two second-half efforts disallowed.

Shepherd felt three key decisions in the second half went against his team. Wickers had a Paul Elliott effort ruled out with the score at 1-0, then at 2-0, Shepherd had another strike dissallowed for offside and felt he should have had a penalty when he was clipped in the penalty area.

Shepherd said: "We were poor in the first half but battered them in the second half and had two good goals dissallowed. The referee said Paul fouled their keeper when he headed the ball home but the linesman said it was for handball. The linesman then flagged me for offside when I was at least five yards on."
