The club, who previously held the Tennis Club Mark, were awarded the newly-designed accreditation by the Lawn Tennis Association last month.

Tennis’s governing body in the United Kingdom, LTA, decided to overhaul the old award and clubs were examined before a decision was made whether to award them the new Tennismark accreditation.

Arundel passed the test with flying colours, with their offerings of appropriate tennis programmes for all ages and accessibility to new members standing them in good stead.

Pyant was pleased all at the club’s efforts were rewarded and said: “It’s great to be awarded this newly-named award.

“We previously were a Tennis Mark Club and that helped us attract a number of new members.

“The LTA decided to revamp this grading but fortunately we passed that and now hold the Tennismark accreditation.

“I think the fact the club has a fully qualified coach and a really good junior programme helped with us being awarded this.

“We are hoping to host a ceremony at the club, so everyone can be rewarded for the part they played in us receiving this award.”
