Producing electricity from solar panels is a brilliant way of reducing global warming, but should the council be giving the electricity, worth £280 a year, away free to tenants (Herald, April 9)?
According to the figures produced at the strategic committee on March 31, this means that the cost of a panel (£2,500) will never be recovered by the council.
No doubt we would all like a subsidy towards our electricity bills.
Why should the tenants not pay for the electricity? We would still have the benefits for global warming.
