May I say a big thank-you to the Herald for running and staging the Community Stars awards?

It was such a humbling evening on Thursday, November 13, when you see just what ordinary people do, and a lot of the time without a thank-you.

May I also say a very big thank-you to everyone who voted for Seaside Hospital Radio? It was a wonderful experience to win the Arts and Entertainment category.

The hospital radio has been in existence for over 40 years, broadcasting to the patients, staff and visitors to Worthing and Southlands hospitals.

The organisation receives no direct funding from the hospital or NHS, so everything has to be fund-raised through events and grants. So, thank you to all the members who give so much of their time to make everything happen.

As you will appreciate, a hospital bed can be a very lonely place at times, so we hope we are the friend at your bedside. Once again, a big thank-you to everyone.

Malcolm Brett
