A great deal of publicity has been given to the proposed award by the Coastal West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) of a £235m contract to BUPA/CSH Ltd for musculoskeletal operations (MSK).
I have now discovered that some opthalmology services have been contracted out to Goring Hall BMI Hospital, specifically treatment for macular degeneration. This is not a proposal, but an accomplished fact, as I am waiting for an appointment for this treatment by the new provider.
Over the past two years I have received first class treatment by the consultants and their dedicated team at Worthing Hospital so why, with the expertise and facilities in place there, does the CCG find it sensible to make this change?
