LETTER: Air quality

Monitoring of air quality in Adur has historically taken place in several locations, including Shoreham.

Improving the quality of the air that we all breathe and depend upon to survive is an environmental and health issue of importance to us all, but it is not always clear who has responsibility for addressing it and what action is being taken as a result.

I would like to see the problem of air pollution given higher profile, including its effects on human health and the things we can do to make the situation better.

I have written to Adur District Council to ask for more information to be made available about their role in monitoring and improving air quality in the district.

I have recently joined the Labour Party, which I believe to have strong environmental credentials, but also think that tackling matters like air pollution should be a concern for all political parties.
