Worthing woman’s ‘adrenaline rush’ raises money for Sussex MS Treatment Centre

Sam Cramer did a skydive in aid of the Sussex MS Treatment Centre, Southwick, raising about £1,000.

Sam, of Alexandra Road, Worthing, wanted to raise money for the facility after her husband, Leon, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

She said: “The skydive was absolutely amazing. It was such an incredible adrenaline rush.

“The bit where you are sitting on the edge of the plane door and your feet are dangling. Wowsers!”

She added that she had loved it so much that she wanted to do it all again.

“It is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I thought I should do it before I was 40.”

Sam, 39, and Leon, 37, have been together since she was 16.

Leon being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis has knocked the family, including sons Joe, 11, and Zac, 10, for six.

“We were in complete shock for a long time after we were told,” said Sam.

“I don’t know if we are coping with it.”

Although the family have not had to use the treatment centre, in Croft Avenue, Southwick, yet, Sam feels they may have to at some point in the future.

She said she knew the staff there did a lot of good work for families like hers.

She also wanted the money to go to a local cause, rather than the national MS Society.

About 10,000 people in the UK, mainly aged between 20 and 40, suffer from MS, symptoms of which include dizziness and balance problems, and extreme fatigue.
