Worthing woman injured in A27 collision

Police are seeking witnesses to a collision on the A27 in which a Worthing woman was left with injuries and shock.

Police said the incident, which occurred around 11.30am on Thursday, happened just west of the A280 Patching flyover as a blue Seat Ibiza car, driven by the 27-year-old woman, was travelling west towards Arundel in lane two of the dual carriageway.

According to police, a silver people carrier joined the road from the Patching slip road and collided with the rear of the Ibiza, causing it to hit the central reservation and spin 180 degrees, so that it was left facing the wrong way in the overtaking lane.

Sergeant Anthony Crisp of the Arundel road policing unit, has appealed for anyone who saw what happened or who may know where the silver people carrier went, to contact police.

He added: “We’d like to thank other motorists who stopped to help the Seat driver. Any information about the vehicle that failed to stop would be welcome.”
