Worthing road closed for emergency services to remove person from flat

A road in Worthing has been closed so the emergency services can remove a person from a flat.

A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said they we were called to Littlehampton Road in Worthing at 9.31am by the South East Coast Ambulance Service 'to assist in the rescue of a patient from a property'.

Click here for the updateThey added: “Joint Fire Control mobilised the aerial ladder platform and the heavy rescue tender from Worthing Fire Station to the scene, along with the technical rescue unit to provide support."

The fire spokesman added: “Sussex Police have closed Littlehampton Road to allow emergency service staff to carry out their work safely, and drivers are urged to avoid the area for the time being.”
