Worthing fire - Pictures show extent of damage after 'rapidly spreading' blaze

The deliberate ignition of a motorbike caused a fire to spread across five beach huts in Worthing in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, June 1).

According to West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, crews were called out just after 2am to reports of several beach huts alight, in Heene Road at Marine Parade. In a post on social media, Worthing Fire Station, which sent two fire engines to the scene, said three huts were fully involved in fire and were 'rapidly spreading to adjacent ones'. It added: "It was caused by someone deliberately setting fire to a motorbike behind them." Read more here
