Worthing and Sompting women’s darts teams raise hundreds for charity in 24 marathon

TWO teams of women took on 24 hours of darts to raise more than £900 for Cancer Research UK.

The ambitious challenge was taken on by the Marquis Darts Team from Sompting and the Stage Ladies Darts Team from Worthing to support a charity close to their hearts. Lorraine Taylor a member of the Stage Ladies Darts Team, and the owner of The Stage pub in High Street, Worthing where the event took place.

She said: “Everyone knows someone who has been lost to it. Last year we nearly raised £700 for Cancer Research and this year we thought we would get together and do something greater.”

Deborah Parsons, from the Marquis Darts Team, said: “Ten years a go I had cervical cancer and my step mother has breast cancer and is going through chemo and without Cancer Research we wouldn’t be here.”
