Worthing and Chichester court results

THE FOLLOWING are court results for Chichester and Worthing magistrates’ courts from September 28 to October 2.

Sally Smith, 54, of Albion Street, Southwick, was given a community order and must carry out 130 hours’ unpaid work after admitting handing Adur District Council a false document between April 11, 2015, and April 16, 2015, in order to obtain housing benefit dishonestly; fraud between April 11, 2015, and April 16, 2015, to obtain a council tax reduction; failing to notify the council of a change of circumstances relating to housing benefit; failing to notify the council of a change of circumstances relating to council tax. She must pay £60 victim surcharge and £641.25 costs.

Alexander Wilson, 38, of Stoke Abbott Court, Stoke Abbott Road, Worthing, was given a 26-week prison sentence, suspended for 24 months, after admitting possessing 162.4g of cannabis with intent to supply. He must carry out 200 hours’ unpaid work and pay £80 victim surcharge, £85 costs.

David Bettell, 43, of St Osmunds Road, Ferring, was fined £50 and must pay £70 costs after admitting breaching a community order.

Grant Mead, 22, of New Road, Littlehampton, was fined £100 and must pay £70 costs after admitting breaching a suspended sentence order.

James Barnes, 18, of May Close, Climping, was fined £230 and must pay £23 victim surcharge, £85 costs, £150 criminal courts charge, after admitting drink-driving (60mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath) in Lyon Street, Bognor Regis, on September 12, 2015. He was disqualified from driving for 17 months.

David Howells, 57, of Woodlands Avenue, Rustington, was fined £540 and must pay £54 victim surcharge, £85 costs, £150 criminal courts charge, after admitting damaging a garden wall while driving in Albert Road, Rustington, on April 18, 2014, and failing to report the accident. He was fined a further £360 after admitting driving a car with a faulty tyre in Arun Close, Rustington, on April 18, 2015. He also admitted failing to stop after an accident, no separate penalty. His driving record was endorsed with seven points.

Jordan Kennett, 35, of Hedge End, Barnham, was fined £100 and must pay £20 victim surcharge, £85 costs, £150 criminal courts charge, after admitting disorderly behaviour while drunk in Aldwick Road, Bognor Regis, on September 13, 2015.

Christopher Levi, 29, of Whitelot Close, Southwick, was fined £40 and must pay £20 victim surcharge, £150 criminal courts charge, after admitting being found drunk in North Road, Lancing, on September 11, 2015.

Hollie Moore, 28, of Westmead Gardens, West Avenue, Worthing, was fined £40 and must pay £20 victim surcharge, £85 costs, £150 criminal courts charge, after admitting being drunk on a highway and in licensed premises in South Farm Road, Worthing, on September 12, 2015. She admitted breaching a conditional discharge, no action taken.

John Stedman, 55, of Cheviot Road, Salvington, was fined £325 and must pay £33 victim surcharge after admitting drug-driving (2.1mg cannabis in blood) in Broadwater Road, Worthing, on August 5, 2015. He was fined £110 after admitting driving without a licence and a further £215 after admitting possessing cannabis. He must pay £85 costs, £180 criminal courts charge, and was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Andrew Spooner, 32, of Lanark House, Pentland Road, Worthing, was given a community order with six-week curfew from 7pm to 7am, electronically monitored, after being found guilty of possessing a fixed blade knife with 10cm blade in Chapel Road, Worthing, on April 24, 2015. He must pay £60 victim surcharge, £200 costs, £1,000 criminal courts charge. He also admitted stealing washing liquid worth £37.85 from Co-op, Worthing, on May 31, 2015, and was discharged conditionally for 12 months. He must pay £37.85 compensation.

Dorian Ward, 46, of Dagmar Street, Worthing, was given a community order with alcohol treatment requirement after admitting assault by beating on July 14, 2015. He must pay £100 compensation, £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Annabella Landsberg, 43, of Clifton Court, Clifton Road, Worthing, was fined £55 and must pay £20 victim surcharge, £85 costs, £150 criminal courts charge, after admitting disorderly behaviour while drunk in Marine Parade, Worthing, on August 7, 2015.

Leigh Deves-McQueen, 44, of Thackeray Road, Worthing, was fined £440 and must pay £44 victim surcharge, £85 costs, £150 criminal courts charge, after being found guilty of driving over the 70mph speed limit on the A23 Hickstead on April 18, 2015. He was also fined £220 after being found guilty of driving without a licence. He was disqualified from driving for 56 days.

George Dumitrasou, 31, of Durrington Gardens, The Causeway, Goring, was fined £255 and must pay £26 victim surcharge, £85 costs, £150 criminal courts charge, after admitting driving over the 40mph speed limit on the A27 Lancing on May 11, 2015. His driving record was endorsed with six points.

Similfoluawa Oshinowd, 24, of Chichester Court, Pevensey Garden, Worthing, was fined £660 and must pay £66 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after being found guilty of driving without insurance in Brighton Road, Lancing, on December 21, 2014. He was disqualified from driving for six months.

Robert Williams, 50, of Orchard Close, Southwick, was fined £295 and must pay £30 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting driving over the 50mph speed limit on the A27 Arundel on March 4, 2015. His driving record was endorsed with six points.

Samual Williams, 23, of Cleveland Copse, Cleveland Close, Worthing, was fined £315 and must pay £32 victim surcharge, £85 costs, £150 criminal courts charge, after admitting driving over 70mph on the A27 Arundel on May 10, 2015. His driving record was endorsed with six points.

Maria Oliveira, 43, of South Terrace, Littlehampton, was fined £660 and must pay £66 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after being found guilty of failing to identify a driver when required by police in Shoreham on January 27, 2015. She was disqualified from driving for six months due to repeat offending.

Jeremy Colville, 47, of Hillside Avenue, Broadwater, was discharged conditionally for six months after being found guilty of using threatening words or behaviour at Worthing College on April 4, 2015. He must pay £15 victim surcharge and £625 costs.

Jordan Wilson, 19, of Gospond Road, Barnham, was fined £120 after admitting driving without insurance in Gospond Road, Barnham, on October 29, 2014. He was also fined £120 after admitting driving without insurance in Gospond Road, Barnham, on March 6, 2015. He also admitted driving without a licence on October 29, 2014, and driving without a licence on March 6, 2015, no separate penalty. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months due to repeat offending. He must also pay £20 victim surcharge and £200 costs.

Daniel Woulfe, 53, of Rugby Road, Worthing, was fined £2,700 and must pay £120 victim surcharge, £1,194.34 costs, after admitting failing to comply with an improvement notice dated December 4, 2014, served under the Housing Act 2004.

Carl Fragle, 44, of Woodlands Road, Littlehampton, was fined £115 and must pay £20 victim surcharge, £85 costs, £150 criminal courts charge, after admitting failing to stop at a red light in Broadwater Road, Worthing, on May 16, 2015. His driving record was endorsed with three points.
