Women's day of prayer in Southwick

HOPES for an Egyptian spring will be expressed at the annual Women's World Day of Prayer in Southwick.

The service will be held at Southwick Methodist Church, in Manor Hall Road, on Friday, March 7, at 7.30pm.

Pastor Gadalla Tiab, from the Arab Community Church in Portslade, will be the speaker and this year’s service, Streams in the Desert, has been prepared by the Christian women of Egypt at a time of great hope.

Organisers said that since the deposition of Presidents Mubarak and Morsi in Egypt,the situation for Christians had been difficult.

This service was written in the interim period, after Tahri Square demonstrations and President Mubarak had been deposed, and the women were all hoping for an Egyptian spring.
