Woman arrested after Shoreham horse attack

Police have arrested a woman in connection with an incident where six horses had their tails and manes cut off in Shoreham.

The 24-year-old, from Hove, has been arrested on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, attempted blackmail and sending a malicious message.

She has been questioned and released on bail for further enquiries until April 26.

The incident happened sometime overnight from Friday, January 29 until Saturday, January 30, at Buddy’s Yard stables in Steyning Road.

Four of the horses were in a field and two were in a stable. None of the horses were hurt.

Police are still appealing for witnesses.
