Witness appeal after man attacked near Worthing taxi rank

A man was taken to hospital after being attacked by two men near a Worthing taxi rank.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault near the taxi rank in Chapel Road, Worthing, between 3.10am and 3.20am on Sunday (August 30)

Police said a 22-year-old local man was taken to hospital for treatment to facial injuries after being punched by two other men, also from Worthing.

A police spokesman said: “A 21-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, both from Worthing, were arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

“They have since been interviewed and released on bail until October 11 while enquiries continue.”
