Win tickets to Elvis party in Shoreham

HELPING those who have helped society is the idea, and eight lucky readers will be able to join the party free of charge.

Musicare Productions is putting on a night of hip-shaking fun in Shoreham, in the form of one of the UK’s top Elvis tribute acts, the JP and the Wonder of Elvis Band, in aid of the Blue Lamp Foundation.

Robin Attwood, who runs the not-for-profit production company with wife Christine, said the charity had been set up by PC David Rathband, shot in the face by Raoul Moat, in Newcastle, last year. It aims to help emergency services staff injured while on duty with everyday needs, such as paying the bills.

Robin said: “We thought it was deserving, because these guys go out and risk their lives for us, but need our help when they are injured.”

Robin and Christine, of Hay Close, Lancing, have been running Musicare Productions for more than 20 years.

“After the hall, the band and the artistes have been paid,” said Robin, “everything else goes to the charity.”

The show is at the Shoreham Centre, Pond Road, on Saturday, May 21, at 8pm. Tickets, priced £10, are available from 01903 751267.
