West End thrill for Shoreham and Southwick teens in charity show

TEENAGERS from Shoreham and Southwick are among those performing in the West End on Sunday.

Ollie Wray, 18, and Olly Banks, 16, will experience the thrill of the London stage at a fundraising event for The Brain Tumour Charity.

They are part of the cast for Brighton Theatre Group Youth’s production of Grease, coming to the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange from June 10 to 14.

Ollie, of Whiterock Place, Southwick, plays Roger in the T-Birds and Olly, of The Drive, Shoreham, plays Eugene. They will perform excerpts from the musical along with more than 50 youngsters from Brighton Theatre Group Youth, aged between nine and 20 years old.

The one-off charity show, West End Dreams, is at Her Majesty’s Theatre, home of Phantom of the Opera. Several groups from all over the country have been invited to take part in the musical extravaganza.

Keith Shepherd, chairman and producer of BTGY said: “We are delighted to have been invited to take part, an indication of the high esteem our youth group enjoys.

“This experience will stay with our young performers forever.”

BTGY will perform a medley of numbers from Grease.
