Following days of rain, chilly blustery winds and grey skies for much of Sussex, next week is looking much more like summer.

There has definitely been a north/south split, with the temperature struggling to reach the mid teens in the South-East, while further north has been enjoying sunny warm days.

The Met Office forecast is much of the same until Saturday (June 4) when, despite more rain, the temperature is expected to start climbing.

Sunday could finally see the sun return and temperatures going past 20degC.

The start of next week is looking promising with a mix of cloud and sun, with the wind finally moving round to the south to draw in warmer weather.

The longer range forecast is for unsettled weather, but the possibility of being very warm and humid in the south, bringing a threat of thunderstorms.

A warning has gone out for the public to take care as the UV levels remain high even when there is cloud.
