Sussex temperatures set to rise after freezing patch

Temperatures in Sussex are forecast to rise by around ten degrees Celsius today (February 15) following a freezing few days.

The much-vaunted, but ultimately disappointing, ‘Beast from the East two’ brought a blast of cold air from Eastern Europe last week, leading to sub-zero temperatures, snow and ice.

But according to the Met Office, today’s temperatures are set to be comparatively tropical, rising to ten degrees Celsius in some places.

Chilly winds of up to 33 miles per hour will make the air feel a few degrees cooler, but it should be a marked improvement from the recent weather.

It is expected to stay cloudy all day, with rain in some areas giving way to mist and low cloud.

A mild, rainy night is expected, with temperatures at a minimum of six degrees Celsius.
