WEATHER: Is Sussex set for more snow?

The second highest cold weather warning issued by the Met Office will remain in place for the next couple of days.

The Level 3 cold weather warning is expected to last until midday on Tuesday, when temperatures are predicted to rise.

A Met Office weather forecast for tonight (Sunday, January 17) states: “Cloudy with some patchy wintry precipitation in the west at times. Clearer spells in the far east allowing a frost to develop inland, with some icy patches on untreated surfaces. Southeasterly winds strengthening along the coasts, especially in the west. Minimum Temperature -1°C.”

On Monday, it is expected to stay cold with patchy rain in the west, while dry in the east. Widespread frost is predicted overnight and with winds easing, it’s estimated temperatures will reach 5°C.

Things are due to get better from Tuesday to Thursday, with cold but mainly dry forecasts throughout. It is expected to get windier later on Thursday with the possibility of rain.
