“We’ve been working for five years to reach out to Tom, and it felt great knowing he had acknowledged us in such a personal way.”

Mr Kenny is a native of Syracuse in New York and other goodies included Syracuse trinkets.

The pair also received a letter from Mr Kenny’s brother, Dan, thanking them for their support and friendship and congratulating them on their entertaining fan page.

Miss Horlock, 22, who has been running the fan page with her brother for more than five years, said: “The reason we started the support for Tom is because we feel he’s a unique celebrity.
