Shoreham Academy enjoyed a whole day devoted to China on Monday as a prelude to Chinese New Year.
The Chinese Circus provided three performances for years seven, eight and nine, alongside visitors from Glebe Primary School.
The day included a talk about Chinese culture, followed by a performance from the circus.
Children were treated to a lion dance, ribbon dance with audience participation, acrobalance duo and a Chinese-style magic show.
This is part of the school’s bid to achieve the International Schools’ Award.
The award lasts for three years and if successful it will be the forth time the school has achieved it. Presented by the British Council, the award involves work with partner schools overseas, visits by students from other countries, curriculum projects and whole school days.
