Organiser Simon Gaynor said: “Students were asked to come in dressed as a sporting hero, or in red clothes, in support of Sports Relief.

“All those that have participated have made a donation towards the school fundraising efforts.”

More than £1,300 had been raised so far but more was due to be added after Friday’s events.

Sport Relief balloons decorated the netball courts as staff and students battled it out and wrist bands were on sale, with donation buckets passed round the court to raise money.

Mr Gaynor said during the week, there had been five-a-side football matches and a table tennis tournament have been running.
