VIDEO: Man dies in Shoreham bypass crash tragedy

ONE man has died following a collision on the A27 Shoreham bypass this morning (Saturday, October 26).

Police were called to a single vehicle collision on the bypass, near the bridge off slip to Southwick, at 5.21am.

The vehicle had left the road. The driver of the car died from his injuries.

Police have yet to formally identify the male, who is believed to be in his 40s.

Officers are investigating at the scene and the road has been closed for some time.

The highway looks set to be closed for part of today while repairs are made to damaged barriers on the off slip.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the incident to call them on 101, using the incident reference 207/26/10/2013 and quoting Operation Frome.

A spokesman from the force thanked motorists for their patience.
