PROPOSALS for a new horse bypass on the Steyning Downland Scheme were discussed on Saturday.
Riders, walkers and cyclists met for a consultation meeting on the South Downs to try to resolve concerns over dangers on one of the bridleways there.
Matthew Thomas, the scheme’s project manager, led the group up to the area where two bridleways meet near the Steyning Mountain Bike Trail.
Before the group set off, horse rider Kate Sigournay handed Mr Thomas a petition calling for the trail to be moved away from the bridleway completely.
See tomorrow Steyning Herald for the results of the meeting.
