FOOTAGE has emerged of the incident that resulted in a Worthing kitesurfer being placed in a medically induced coma.
A YouTube video of the accident shows Lewis Crathern, the former British kitesurfing champion, crashing into the water during a ‘megaloop’.
It is not the most comfortable viewing, but we are sharing it as some readers have been asking about it. We will leave it at readers’ discretion whether they choose to watch.
Lewis, 31, who was the freestyle British champion from 2005 to 2008, was hurt while competing in the semi-finals of the Red Bull King of the Air competition at Big Bay in Blouberg, South Africa, on Sunday.
His mum, Sandra, is at his bedside, and as reported earlier today has been updating people on his condition via her Facebook page. Read the previous story here
