But what Missy lacks in size is made up for with oddles of character and staff say the female miniature pinscher is a firm favourite at the Shoreham rehoming centre, in Brighton Road.

Tracey Rae, rehoming centre manager, said: “She is a very sweet girl once she gets to know you. It will take a few extra visits to form a bond with her but when she is comfortable with you, she loves to sit on your lap and give you kisses.”

“She would benefit from her own enclosed garden so she can relax and enjoy her surroundings, and she is comfortable around children aged 16-plus, “ added Tracey.

“She would like owners who have plenty of time for her as she is not used to being left on her own and even though she is a tiddly tot, she still enjoys going out on her walks.

“Missy will need to be the only dog in her new home but is happy to have doggy play friends when out and about.”
