Extra visits may be needed to get to know Howard but Dogs Trust Shoreham says it will be worth the effort.
The one-year-old crossbreed can be nervous with new people and is looking for a home with people aged 16 and over.
Tracey Rae, rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Shoreham, said: “Howard is a lovely chap that likes to take his time getting to know you. He is such a sweet boy once you have made friends. He will enjoy being close to you and having a fuss.
“This lovely chap will blossom in his home once settled. He has so much love to give and will bring a smile to your face with his silly antics.”
Howard would benefit from living with another dog for companionship and to help build confidence.
Trainers have been working with Howard to teach some basic commands, such as sit and down. Howard has also got the hang of loose lead walking.
