Update: Shoreham power station transformer causes small fire

A small fire was caused by one of the transformers at Shoreham power station blowing out earlier this afternoon (Sunday, January 24).

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to the power station in Southwick at around 1pm after loud explosions were heard.

On arrival, the fire was already out so firefighters made the area safe before leaving.
