A man has been pronounced dead following an incident where he was struck by a train, the British Transport Police has said.
Police said officers attended the scene around 4.30pm today at a level crossing near Angmering train station, along with an ambulance.
According to police, the man was pronounced dead at the scene and officers are working to identify the man and inform his family.
Southern Railway has tweeted this afternoon that all lines are blocked, and replacement buses are now operating between Worthing, Barnham and Littlehampton.
Brighton and Hove Buses are also accepting Southern tickets ‘via all reasonable routes’.
