UPDATE: Man dies in hospital following collapse in Worthing street

A man who collapsed in a Worthing street on Wednesday has sadly died in hospital, police confirmed.

Emergency services were called to reports a man had collapsed in Augusta Place on Wednesday (March 22) at 11.37am, a police spokesperson said.

He was taken to Worthing hospital where he died, the spokesperson confirmed.

The spokesperson said: “His death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been informed.”

The ambulance service had been called at around 12.15pm on Wednesday, a South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed.

One ambulance and three paramedic cars arrived at the scene, where the man received treatment, before being taken to hospital in a ‘serious condition’, the spokesperson said.
