UPDATE: Crash driver in hospital

A DRIVER who was cut from her car after a crash at the Saltings Roundabout is in hospital, though she is believed to have escaped with only minor injuries.

Emergency services were called to the scene of a collision between two cars on the A259 Brighton Road at the Saltings Roundabout, near Shoreham Airport at 7.22am.

It involved a BMW 3-series and a Peugeot 206.

Though neither driver was thought to be seriously injured, the road was closed while firefighters removed the roof of one vehicle to enable the driver to be safely extracted.

The casualty was taken by ambulance to Worthing Hospital.

The accident has caused major traffic problems along the A259.
