UPDATE: Teenager still in hospital following collision on A27 at Lancing

A TEENAGER who was injured in a road collision yesterday is still in hospital today (Wednesday, March 7).

The 14-year-old was in collision with a car on the A27 at Lancing, near to the Sir Robert Woodard Academy, at 4.45pm yesterday.

He was flown by the air ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, in Brighton.

Police described his condition as serious, though a family friend said it is believed the injuries were not life-threatening and he is expected to have an operation.

The driver of the car, a 54-year-old Brighton woman, was shocked but unhurt.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to ring 101 quoting serial 1123 of 6/03.
