The issue is reported to be at Newick Hill junction

Traffic was stopped along the A27 eastbound between Lancing and Shoreham due to a shed load from a lorry.

A spokesperson for Highways England said bricks fell off the back of a lorry just before 3pm.

The Herald earlier received a report describing the traffic as ‘gridlocked’.

No injuries have been reported.

Both lanes have now been cleared, according to a tweet from Highways England, and delays should start to ease.
