Two die after car hits tree

Two people have died after a car left a road and hit a tree, police have said.

Emergency services were called to the A284 London Road in Arundel at around 8.30pm last night (Thursday November 17).

Police said a Honda Civic left the road and collided with a tree.

A 21-year-old man from Storrington, who was driving the car, and his passenger, a 20-year-old woman from Billingshurst, were pronounced dead at the scene, officers added.

The road was closed for four hours while police investigated the incident and the vehicle was removed.

Inspector Stewart Goodwin said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area and who saw what happened to get in touch.

“Witnesses can email [email protected] quoting Operation Highmoor.”
