Sussex traffic report: Crawley road blocked due to incident between car and pedestrian

Here’s the latest traffic news for East and West Sussex this evening (August 10).

According to traffic reports, Broadfield Drive, in Crawley, is blocked due to a collision, which was reported at around 5pm.

A car and a pedestrian are reportedly involved in the incident, which is from Seymour Road to A2220 Horsham Road (Broadfield Roundabout).

South East Coast Ambulance Service and Sussex Police has been contacted for more information.

Reports say the A27 westbound is closed, with queueing traffic due to accident investigation work from A26 (Southerham Roundabout) to A277 Brighton Road (Ashcombe Roundabout).

Congestion from that incident is going through to Beddingham, Newhaven and Saltdean, according to reports. And traffic is also congested on routes around Lewes.

One lane is also closed eastbound on the A27 due to the accident investigation work from A277 Brighton Road (Ashcombe Roundabout, Kingston) to A26 (Southerham Roundabout). Traffic is reportedly coping well.

Grande Parade, in Brighton, is closed both ways, with queueing traffic, due to an accident, where a vehicle and a pedestrian were involved from Richmond Parade to Edward Street, according to reports.

The A248 Sherbourne both ways is closed due to emergency repairs between New Road and A25 Shere Road, according to reports.

There is queuing traffic on the A259 The Drove westbound around Drove Road, in Newhaven, according to reports.

In Hove, vehicles are moving slowly due to holiday traffic on the A259 Kings Road both ways from Hove Lawns to The Brighton Centre.

There is also slow traffic on the A27 Polegate Bypass eastbound from The Thoroughbred pub to the A22 Polegate Road (Cop Hall Roundabout).
