Road crashes and bonfire attended by West Sussex firefighters

INCIDENTS attended by firefighters yesterday and today (Friday, February 10) include:-

Thursday, February 9, 8.59am to 9.35am:

Whyke Road, Chichester – woman pedestrian trapped under wheel of skip lorry, woman released by firefighters using high pressure airbags and taken to hospital by air ambulance. Crews from Chichester and Bognor in attendance.

Sussex Police is asking for witnesses to call 101 and quote operation bass.

Thursday, February 9, 10.26am to 11.15am:

Junction of Thorne Road and Marine Parade, Worthing – collision involving two cars, one person released by firefighters. Two people taken to hospital. Crews from Lancing, Worthing and Shoreham in attendance.

Thursday, February 9, 8.19pm to 8.40pm:

Field off Highdown Drive, Littlehampton – unattended bonfire extinguished by firefighters, crew from Littlehampton in attendance.

Thursday, February 9, 8.22 to 8.55:

House, in Ravenscroft, Storrington – large amount of water from tank leaking through first floor ceiling. Water and electrics isolated by firefighters and salvage undertaken. Two crews from Littlehampton.

Friday, February 10, 1.38am to 2.05am:

Ford Airfield Industrial Estate, off Rollaston Road, Ford – skip fire extinguished by two crews from Littlehampton. Arsonists blamed for blaze.
