The senior choir from the Upper Beeding school sang at the Holmbush Shopping Centre in Shoreham on Monday, to raise money for the homeless in Brighton and Worthing.

A host of parents went along for the annual concert, which featured the senior orchestra accompanying the choir in the shopping centre’s atrium.

Head teacher Clare Trelfa said: “As a result of their beautiful singing and shoppers’ generosity, the pupils raised just over £400, which our warm-hearted junior Towers parents have just boosted to £637.28 after two junior carol services.

“On Friday, we shall be holding two senior carol services, from which we are hoping parental contributions will raise our charitable donation to near £1,000.

“Our sincere wish is that this sum will ease the plight of some of the homeless in Brighton and Worthing and that they will have a Christmas to remember.”
