Three new courses for new year

AS THE new year arrives, the WEA Steyning branch will be offering a selection of new courses.

The first course, Music of the Two Americas, will gallop through the music from the USA and Latin-America from a variety of countries and periods.

It starts on Wednesday, January 8, at 2pm until 4pm in the Jarvis Music Room, Jarvis Lane, Steyning.

The next course is Britain Between the Wars and will use film and documentaries to create a picture of the political, economic and social changes in Britain and its role in world affairs during the interval between the two world wars.

Tutor Paul Legg, a former BBC correspondent and broadcaster, will start the course on Tuesday, January 14, from 10.30 until 12.30am, at the Catholic Church room, Penlands Way, Bramber Road, Steyning.

Art and Society in Eighteenth Century Britain will consider art in the context of cultural, social, and intellectual developments that were taking place during the era.

It will start on Thursday, January 16, at 2.30pm to 4.30pm, at the Catholic Church Room, Penlands Way, Bramber Road, Steyning.

All courses are ten weeks in total (with a break for half-term) and courses will cost £79 each.
