Three fire engines tackle fire at Lancing property

Firefighters have tackled a fire in an outbuilding in Lancing this afternoon (April 27).

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said three fire engines were called to Old Salts Farm Road in Lancing shortly after 12.30pm.

Two from Worthing Fire Station joined one from Shoreham and a water carrier from Burgess Hill to find an outbuilding 'well alight' on arrival.

One hose reel was used to bring the fire under control, the spokesman said, and crews remained at the scne with a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were no hotspots.

They left the scene shortly after 1.15pm.
