Teenage pedestrian seriously hurt in crash

A TEENAGE pedestrian suffered serious ankle injuries in a collision with a motorbike in Southwick on Wednesday.

The 15-year-old boy from Hove was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, and admitted for treatment after the crash in Old Shoreham Road.

It happened just before 8pm, near the junction with Upper Kingston Lane.

The motorcyclist, a 20-year-old Shoreham man riding a Yamaha 125, suffered bruising. He was taken to Worthing Hospital but was not admitted.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision. The Kent, Surrey and Sussex air ambulance attended but both casualties were eventually taken to hospital by road ambulance.
