Tales from Africa shared with Kenya class

CHILDREN in Kenya class at Upper Beeding Primary School spent their first week back at school learning about their class country.

Village resident Juliet Hindson, who lived in Pokot in Kenya for 11 years, visited the school, in School Road, Upper Beeding, to share her experiences of living in the African country.

Mrs Hindson took along various artefacts to share with the children, including spears, bows and arrows.

Teacher Mrs Debbie Gilpin and teaching assistant Mrs Marsha Bettini-Hanson look after the class of year one and two children.

They explained Mrs Hindson was part of a group from Upper Beeding Baptist Church which had worked with the school to help to build a school in West Pokot about six years ago.
