Drama teacher Richard Stone said: “The cast were superbly led by William Jefferies as Bugsy and Lottie Bentham as Blousey Brown. Special mention should also go to Sam Brown, who excelled in his role as Fat Sam Stacatto.

“The whole cast acted, sang and danced with enthusiasm and flair, brilliantly supported throughout by the house band led by music teacher Donald Manson.

“The whole cast thoroughly enjoyed themselves and, judging from the feedback we received, so did the audiences, some enjoying it so much they came back on the second night.”

He said the show had been a great success, with excellent star performances all-round, and thanked all those who contributed.
