Strange goings on as Worthing family awoken by flash of ‘pink light’

A FAMILY have been left mystified after being awoken by a flash of ‘pink light’ in the early hours of the morning (Thursday, August 7).

Justin Webster, of Pendine Avenue, East Worthing, reported seeing his bedroom lit up by around 30 seconds of pink sky, before darkness fell again.

A family friend he spoke to, who lives in Devils Dyke, reported a similar flash of light and a bang at the same time.

He said: “My wife got up at 3.45am and when I opened my eyes, I saw through the curtains the sky was a light pink or mauve colour.

“I closed my eyes for a few seconds and then it was pitch dark again.

“I thought it was a bit strange but didn’t think much of it, until my wife came back and said she saw a flash and my son said in the morning that there were lights on his wall.”

Mr Webster contacted the Herald to see if anyone else had experienced the weird phenomena.

“It was weird. I’m not sure what it was. Maybe it was a meteor or something.”
