Steyning parish meeting votes for poll

A LARGE crowd turned out for last night's Steyning parish meeting, held in the Steyning Centre to vote on a motion calling for a town poll.

A question was put forward for the poll by supporters of Steyning Parish Council’s skatepark, and an amendment was offered by the Friends of Memorial Playing Field.

The first motion won the day and Horsham District Council is now expected to organise a poll within the next three to four weeks.

The question put to Steyning residents will be:

“Do you want Steying Parish Council to provide a skatepark in the Memorial Playing Field, incorporating the existing asphalt strip, located near the Rublees Allotments boundary?”
