Spokesman Calum Chace said: “Tickets have been selling like, well, like things that sell very quickly.

“But the good news is there are still tickets available for some very exciting events, including big-name talents like Richard Durrant the guitar whisperer, Sunny Ormonde, who plays Lillian Bellamy in the Archers, and the fabulous Copper Family, who have been headline acts in the UK folk circuit since Napoleonic times. And the DJ at the Silent Disco is Soul of Man, from Finger Lickin’ Records.

“If you favour a more nostalgic form of entertainment, the Lost Railway is an intriguing compilation of archive footage of the Steyning Flyer which linked Steyning to Horsham, marking the 50 years since its closure.

“Harking back even further, hand-made sets and puppets will tell the charming children’s story of The Elves and the Shoemaker.

“If you’re more of a forward-looking sort, there are a couple of talks about artificial intelligence, which for better or worse is going to be the biggest story of the 21st century.

“Towards the end of the Festival, we’ll be celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday with a day of traditional Sussex food, drink and activities.
