Many people may be waiting for the arrival of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens to catch up with the most famous Jedi Knights in the universe - when really, there are some much closer to home.

In the latest census, thousands of people in Sussex submitted their religion as Jedi Knight - choosing to follow the divine order of the galaxy.

Figures have been released for each local authority area in the country, with Brighton and Hove as the Jedi focal point in Sussex.

Brighton and Hove - 2,636 Jedi Knights (0.96% of population)

Horsham - 528 Jedi Knights (0.40% of population)

Arun - 524 Jedi Knights (0.35% of population)

Hastings - 522 Jedi Knights (0.58% of population)

Wealden - 510 Jedi Knights (0.34% of population)

Lewes - 503 Jedi Knights (0.52% of population)

Worthing - 501 Jedi Knights (0.48% of population)

Chichester - 440 Jedi Knights (0.39% of population)

Crawley - 422 Jedi Knights (0.40% of population)

Eastbourne - 406 Jedi Knights (0.41% of population)

Adur - 360 Jedi Knights (0.59% of population)

Rother - 307 Jedi Knights (0.34% of population)

The latest instalment of the Star Wars saga will hit cinema screens in the early hours of tomorrow morning, with fan favourites Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill reprising their roles as Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.
