SINGERS will be putting a spring in the step at a St David’s Day concert in Shoreham.
Legendary bassist Herbie Flowers and Shoreham Singers-by-Sea will be presenting a grand concert at the Shoreham Centre on Sunday, March 1, at 2.30pm.
The community choir, with more than 100 members, will perform songs from the shows, traditional songs, Lou Reed numbers and classical songs, all in four-part harmony.
There will be several soloists and three ‘choirs within a choir’. Seven Singers will perform madrigals, classical and folk music, Seaside Singers specialise in entertaining at care homes with singalong arrangements of well-known songs, and Bothy Singers are an all-female group singing innovative arrangements.
Douglas Hill, from the centre, said: “The Shoreham Centre looks, at the moment, like a building site but inside, the hall, among other areas, is functioning normally and with heroic efforts by the staff, there will be not only a functioning café but also a bar open for the duration of the concert.”
Tickets are £6 adults, £4 under-16s. Call 01273 454686, email firstname.lastname@example.org or buy on the door.
