Local historian Ted Heasman will present Lost buildings of Southwick at Southwick Community Centre on Monday, March 10, at 7.30pm.

Society secretary Nigel Divers said: “Ted has been researching Southwick’s history for many years and is a mine of information about all things local.

“Many people will remember his long series of articles in the Shoreham Herald.”

The Albion Street and Butts Road area was once a warren of houses, shops, pubs, workshops and chapels, some dating back 200 years.

There were two schools on Southwick Green, a farm in Park Lane, a barn where Southwick Square stands and numerous cottages and farm buildings scattered around the town.

“Ted will be taking us on a journey through this lost landscape,” added Mr Divers.

Entrance is £4, £2 for Southwick Society members.
